In the field of cement production, cyclones are essential equipment, and their performance has a crucial impact on the efficiency and stability of the entire production process. As a central component, the cyclone's inner cylinder is exposed to harsh working conditions such as high temperature, dust erosion, and complex chemical corrosion for an extended period. Traditional heat-resistant steel inner cylinders have gradually revealed their limitations in handling these challenges, and ceramic materials, with their unique performance advantages, are gradually becoming a new option for cyclone inner cylinder materials, triggering a far-reaching material shift.


Heat-resistant steel can maintain good mechanical properties within a certain temperature range. Its alloy composition gives the material a certain resistance to oxidation at high temperatures and load-bearing capacity. No cyclone inner cylinder, the most commonly used include ZG30NI25Gr20. In the last long period of time, heat-resistant steel has become the main material for the cyclone inner cylinder. However, due to harsh working conditions such as high temperature, dust erosion, and complex chemical corrosion, the service life of heat-resistant steel inner cylinders is short. The service life of suspended parts of C5 and C4 inner cylinders is generally between 12 and 18 months, and varies greatly between different manufacturers and product batches.

Ceramic material is a type of refractory material with excellent resistance to high temperatures. Its refractoriness is generally above 1600℃, and its softening temperature under load is around 1400℃. Even in the high-temperature environment of 800-1200℃ in the cement kiln preheater, the ceramic inner tube can function stably. Ceramic materials have extremely high surface hardness, which makes their resistance to dust erosion much better than that of heat-resistant steel. In the harsh environment of high temperature and a lot of dust in the cyclone, the ceramic inner cylinder can effectively resist continuous erosion from dust particles, significantly reducing the wear rate and extending the service life of the equipment. Raw materials for ceramic materials are widely distributed and have abundant sources. After reaching large-scale production, their cost can be greatly reduced. Compared to heat-resistant steel, the cost of the ceramic inner cylinder of the preheater of the same specification is lower.

The change from the material of the heat-resistant steel cyclone inner tube to ceramic is an inevitable choice for the industrial field to adapt to the development trend of high efficiency, energy saving, and environmental protection.
